Description

Brian and I had already been to the Pumphouse and Firehouse this year, so we decided to check out the Spiral Staircase on this particular trip.  The older we get the later our meeting times get and today was no exception.  We didn't start climbing until around noon after an easy drive from the Front Range to Vail, Colorado.  We each got several good leads in throughout the afternoon on great ice conditions.  We had the entire crag to ourself all day.  Snow started dumping later in the afternoon and Vail, Colorado, went nuclear.  I wasn't keen on getting soaked, so we rode the alpine slide back down to the ski trails and called it a day.
