Description

We had to drive back to Denver, Colorado, so we picked an easier climb for the morning of day three of our trip.  We drove to Eureka, Colorado, and were pleasantly surprised the road was clear all the way to the base of the climb.  Tempered By Fire is farther up the Animas River Valley from Second Gully and Gold Rush.  We literally geared up at the vehicle and were only 100' away from the first pitch.

Kevin lead the very aesthetic first pitch that kind of starts out in a shallow cave.  I led a short pillar on pitch 2 to some easy mixed climbing and bolts.  We made two rappels and then Brian led pitch 1 before we packed up and made the long drive back to Denver, Colorado.  This was a successful climbing trip that we all enjoyed greatly.
