Description

The three of us decided to attempt a mid-June snow climb of the Bell Cord Couloir in between the Maroon Bells.  I struggled most of the day with low blood sugar levels and slowed us down quite a bit.  We started down the standard south ridge route after reaching the summit of South Maroon Peak, but then dropped into one of the couloirs south of the Bell Cord.  We had to down climb face in for several hundred feet and then make a tricky down climb of a waterfall where the snow had melted out, but we made it down nonetheless.
