Description

I haven't climbed much in the past month due to a vacation.  However, after a week back to work, I managed to slip in an ice climbing trip over Super Bowl weekend.  On our way to climb in Ouray, Colorado, for a long weekend, we stopped near Gunnison, Colorado, to check out Chipeta Falls.  This was a fun climb worth the effort if you are in the area.  The approach starts 3.7 miles from the Blue Mesa Dam on Highway 92.  You have to drop into the Black Canyon of the Gunnison to the Gunnison River.  The setting was very cool and we each enjoyed a couple of laps on a great piece of ice.
