Description

Lucky Peak is the prominent foothill just east of Boise, Idaho, with the large antenna station on the top.  This particular trail probably sees more bikes than hikers as it is part of the Ridge to Rivers trail system, which is predominantly used by bikers, and it is essentially a gravel road to the top.  I thought this would be a good work out due to the length and elevation gain.  Most of the hikes I have been on so far this spring have been relatively short.  I started in southeast Boise, Idaho, and followed the Homestead Trail until it intersected with the Lucky Peak Trail.  From there, I turned north and followed the road to Lucky Peak at 5,904'.
