Description

Bill and Vicki decided that they wanted to visit Sandpoint, Idaho, one more time before Rebecca and I moved to southern Idaho, so I thought that Roman Nose Lakes would be a great hike to take them on.  The trailhead is located northwest of Sandpoint, Idaho, past Snow Creek Falls and the Bottleneck Lake Trailhead.  It was about an hour drive to the first lake where the trail begins.  Although it was a bit overcast, we left it up to Vicki to decide whether or not to continue, and she agreed to give it a go.  The trail begins with a few switchbacks to get you above the first lake for some nice views.  After this, you climb some more and reach a look out point which was excellent for photos and a quick breather.  From here, the trail either drops off to the right to the next lake, or levels off to the left to the final lake.  We decided to just head back to the final lake where we were able to see Roman Nose Mountain and take a few more photos.  Bill and Vicki enjoyed themselves and got a chance to experience northern Idaho one last time.  Taylor did really well too and even walked a short distance on her own.
