Description

I found these two peaks while researching my hike for last week.  I didn't have to drive quite as far on County Road 103.  From the trailhead to the top of Hicks Mountain was a very easy stroll on an old road with only a bit of off-trail hiking to reach the summit.  Progress slowed dramatically at this point as the traverse from Hicks to Mount Judge was miserable and challenging.  A presumably recent and significant wind storm blew down hundreds of trees of all sizes on the generally tame ridge.  I persisted and fought my way through the mess finally reaching Mount Judge after a long and difficult hike.  I was in the trees all day, even on the summits, so there weren't any good views for photos.  The descent down the northeast slopes of Judge was easier than the traverse with less downfall to deal with.
