Description

Earlier in the day, I hiked up to Avocado Gully just to check conditions.  There was no ice on the two pitches I could see.  As I drove south past Redstone, Colorado, I stopped by Hayes Creek Falls and free-soloed the ice a couple of times to check it off the list of climbs I have done.  Around 1:00 pm, I met up with Kevin Smith and we hiked up to Marble Falls outside of Marble, Colorado.  This is the waterfall on the Coors Banquet can of beer.

The climb was in challenging conditions and gave us full value.  The center line was long, clean, and steep.  The top-out was thin and hollow as usual.  Kevin led the first half of the climb and then I led the second half.  We then each got a couple more top-rope laps in as it was getting late in the day.  We had the climb to ourselves over the course of the afternoon.
