Description

I had to be back home in the early afternoon, so we couldn’t venture far for ice climbing.  Brian, Doug, and I went to Silverplume Falls because of the short drive and opportunity to practice leading.  We were the first group to the flow and simply took turns leading.  After someone led the route, they would drop the rope and scramble back down a snow ramp on climber’s right to either belay the next guy or take a break.  Since we were taking different lines, the entire flow became littered with the screws that hadn’t been cleaned.  I finally set up a rappel and retrieved all the screws in order to start over again.  We each led four times before setting up a top rope for a couple of quick runs.
