Description

The forecast in the high country for Saturday was snow with strong winds.  As a result, Jeff and I opted to simply go to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and hike the Manitou Incline.  Unfortunately, Jeff didn't let me off the hook easily and we ended up doing it three times.  The first time we went down the Barr Trail because some of the steps still had frost on them and we were slightly concerned about footing on the descent.  The second time up I added four minutes to my time while Jeff actually hiked it faster than his first time up.  We went down the incline and then decided to go up a third time.  I lost another six minutes, but Jeff remained strong.  Some of the US Olympic wrestlers were training on it and an individual from the Denver Post was taking pictures for an article that ran the next day.  Although this isn't a real alpine outing, we got 6,000' in by 10:30 in the morning.
