Description

This was a fairly miserable day of ice climbing due to extremely cold temperatures.  I must have gotten the screaming barfies at least 3 or 4 times.  Wes read negative 10 degrees at one point during the day.  Brian and I set up a top rope on the right curtain (which was simply a large pillar) while Doug and Wes did one pitch up the main gully.  After a couple of runs on the large pillar that was fairly beat out, Brian and I retreated to the bottom of the main gully to trade ropes with Wes and Doug who set up another top rope.  We made a few more runs here and then returned to Denver, Colorado.

I didn't notice until later that evening, but the nose pads on my glasses were cold enough to cause blisters on either side of the bridge of my nose.  My water froze, my licorice was solid, and I generally had a less than pleasant day.  Not surprisingly, we were the only ones at the falls on this particular day.  I didn't take any photos because I was too cold.  I'm not sure my camera would have worked anyway.
