Description

Chuck and Kathy Bauman decided to fly up from Boise, Idaho, to visit us again before we moved to Boise, Idaho.  Although there was still a lot of snow in the mountain, I found this short hike that would work for Chuck and I.  We decided to hike near Priest Lake because Chuck had never been there before and the trailhead was right off of Highway 57 approximately 1.5 miles south of Nordman, Idaho.  it was a good idea to keep the hiking reasonable since Chuck was recovering from his celebration of Cinco de Mayo the previous night.  The $2.00 lime margaritas and tequila shots at Jalapenos were getting their revenge.  It was a descent hike, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you are short of time or want to snowshoe.  The view from the top was guarded by trees so it is difficult to get a glimpse of Priest Lake.  The view from Lookout Mountain on the east side of the lake is much better.  When we returned to the vehicle, we ventured into one of many campgrounds around the lake and took a few pictures before heading back to Sandpoint, Idaho.
