Description

I decided to shorten and combine these two hikes for a couple of reasons.  First of all, I didn't want to drive into Mount Spokane State Park twice, and secondly, I didn't think it made a whole lot of sense to hike right next to a paved road.  These trails are northeast of Spokane, Washington, about 25 miles.  The hike wasn't exceptionally exciting and the trails see a lot of traffic because of their location.  I pretty much hurried to Mount Kit Carson, took a few snapshots, came back down and did the same thing over to Day Mountain.  The views of the Spokane Valley to the west are pretty good, but if you are looking to get out into the wilderness and away from people, these wouldn't be good options.
