Description

One of the other things we did when Bill and Vicki came out to visit was go down to Lewiston, Idaho, and take a jet boat tour into Hell's Canyon.  On the way home we decided to make a detour and check out some water falls near Elk River, Idaho.  Elk River, Idaho, is approximately 30 miles east of Moscow, Idaho, and 30 miles north of Orofino, Idaho.

Elk Creek Falls are a chain of three separate water falls that have a trail system leading to each flow.  We started with the falls farthest up the river and then made our way down to the lower falls.  Between the first and second falls, I am pretty sure we took a trail that was supposedly off limits.  After scaling the side of a steep hill, we had to cross a barrier to get to the viewing site for the second water falls.  When we got over the barrier, there was a sign that read "Please Do Not Cross the Fence."  We had a picnic at the final set of falls and made it back safely to the car.
